There is no vacancy on the Marshchapel and Eskham Parish Council.  When there is a vacancy it will be advertised here.

From time to time it is necessary to co-opt a new Councillor.

Next election is May 2027, (they are every four years).

If you are interested in becoming a Parish Councillor please contact The Clerk or The Chairman who will be happy to discuss this with you.

To be a Marshchapel Parish Councillor you will need to be:

at least 18 years old;  a British citizen or an eligible Commonwealth citizen;

and an elector of the Parish (on the Electoral Roll);

or in the past 12 months occupied land or other premises in the Parish;

or work in the Parish;

or live within 3 miles of the Parish boundary.

You may be disqualified as a candidate if you have been declared bankrupt in the last 5 years and not repaid your debts;

You have been convicted of a criminal offence and sentenced to at least 3 months imprisonment (including a suspended sentence) within the previous five years;

You are disqualied due to corrupt practices under the Representation of the People Act 1983 or the Audit Commission Act.
