Marshchapel Parish Council, in 2016,  with the help of funding from County Councillors, cleaned and refurbished the War Memorial to commemorate the Centenary of the First World War.

The War Memorial in Marshchapel stands on the crossroads of Sea Dyke Way, Church Lane and Mill Lane.

Although not in a bad state of repair there were a few issues that needed professional attention.

It commemorates the villagers who paid the ultimate price in the First World War in defending their Country.
